Rebelle is a one-of-a-kind real watercolor and acrylic painting program created by Escape Motions.
Rebelle's watercolor simulation is based on a real-world color mixing, blending, wet-diffusion, and drying. With its unparalleled organic feel it’s truly a must-have for every artist’s digital toolbox.
The breakthrough in digital art
Designed from the ground up, inspired by the real-world painting, Rebelle is the closest a digital tool has ever come to the flow, spontaneity, and feel of traditional materials. Its various wet tools - watercolors, acrylics or ink pen can be combined with pastels, pencils or any other dry media tools, in wonderfully intuitive ways.
Unique watercolor algorithm
Rebelle convincingly mimics the way natural media interacts with the canvas and itself. You can paint, smear, re-wet dried colors, blow wet washes across the paper, tilt the paper to create water drops and runs and create countless fantastic watercolor effects.
Discover powerful tools
The 1.5 update introduced more than 40 advanced features including support for touch gestures, custom color sets, language selection (English, German, French, Korean,…) or physically impossible but creatively valuable option to freeze the diffusion of wet paint across the canvas.
Latest 1.5.2 version changes and fixes:
- Fixed the cursor position when painting
- Preferences - use mouse or pen position when painting
- Preferences - select Wacom device or Microsoft Ink device
- Fixed painting with Astropad tablet
- Fixed Dirty brush when painting after Clean brush
- Fit language translations into text boxes

like a newer, cheaper Corel Painter. lots fewer tools but exceptional traditional media emulation. I use it with may xppen artist 15.6 pro display drawing tablet which gives me a lot of fun. cool gimmick: if you have a device with a gyroscope, you can tilt it to make paint drip.
If you want to draw with something that looks like real paint, using something like Rebelle will let you do some amazing things. More

I use them all - Painter, Photoshop, Paint Storm, SAI, Affinity Products and just about all painting programs over the past 20+ years. Rebelle is my most favored because how well it handles the feel of natural media painting. The available tools are enough for any artist to create amazing piece of art. More

great potential but young and lacking lots of necessary tools and options.
absence of unnecessary tools might be good, but lack of customization for the current tools is not. the watercolor blending/wet canvas simulation is spectacular, but the brushes don't work like watercolor brushes. if I could only make and save custom brushes, Rebelle might be a truly great option. right now this software is really young and a lot of necessary features for watercolor painting are missing, we only have the most basic brushes. also, I'm not sure how stable it is, I had some crashes a while ago, none lately.. but I only tested on the small demo rez.
Pros:
the wet canvas simulation
Cons:
everything else..
like customization and options More

nice features.
Mix mode is one of my favorite features in Rebelle. You can set its sensitivity, which is also great and useful in an artist's workflow. Besides, the tilt does an outstanding job too, I wish I could manipulate with the shape and size of the drips in the future More
